Actor Aamir Khan is currently busy promoting his much-awaited Bollywood release, Sitaare Zameen Par. The movie covers a sensitive theme showcasing the lives of specially abled children who are trained by Aamir Khan as their basketball coach. Recently, the actor held a special screening of the movie and interacted with fans afterwards. A video showing Aamir Khan visiting the theatre has surfaced online where he can be seen receiving firsthand feedback from the public. The video shows a positive response from the viewers who seemed to be moved by the storyline that beautifully portrayed the societal issues faced by specially abled kids.

Aamir Khan was spotted interacting with the fans while he received a standing ovation. One viewer told the actor, “You looked after many aspects of sensitivity. Kudos to the writer, director and the dialogues,” to which he replied, “It’s an important issue for all of us.” The movie bagged another praise from a viewer as he said, “After Taare Zameen Par, a very good film has come to theatres after a big gap. There have been movies that came after that, but this will change perceptions.” One moviegoer who works for the Muskan Foundation (which provides differently abled children with special education and therapy) said, “Very well-kept and captured messages. I really appreciate it.”

Further in the video, the Ghajini star talked about how the actors with special needs had an amazing time during the shoot. He also explained that in every project, there are certain conflicts among the creative approaches of different people, but this movie didn’t have any. Aamir Khan also stated that he never felt a difference while working with specially abled children.

Author and philanthropist Sudha Murty was also present at the screening of the movie. Praising the film, she said, “I feel the movie’s an eye-opener. Many people don’t understand such children whom we call ‘not normal.” She expressed that the movie beautifully helps you understand that these kids are sensitive and have pure hearts. “These are great and deep philosophical lessons which we learn from these people (the characters in the film),” she shared. 

Sitaare Zameen Par is helmed by RS Prasanna, best known for directing Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. During an interview with PTI, he said, "This movie cannot happen without them, so it is my job to take the time and effort to teach them some of the tools that they may not have. For me, they bring a certain rawness and beauty, which is their advantage."

The cast also includes Genelia D'Souza in the lead role alongside debutant actors including Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar. The movie is scheduled to release on June 20, 2025.
