Smriti Irani has been making headlines lately for her return to TV after a decade-long break with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. Her first look as Tulsi has created a buzz on social media. Amid this anticipation, questions about her taking a possible sabbatical from politics have emerged online. Smriti recently cleared all the doubts and revealed that she has no intention of taking a break from politics, stating that she has never compromised on her sangathan responsibilities and has handled both media and politics over the last 25 years.
In a recent interaction on her X with her fans, Smriti was asked several questions about Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi's return and politics. One user sent her good wishes for her show, along with a query. The tweet read, “Dear @smritiirani all the best on your return to TV. Hope this is just a brief sabbatical from politics.”
To this, Smriti set the record straight by saying, "No sabbatical. Have worked both in media and politics for 25 years with only a decade break due to my responsibility as Cabinet Minister. Never compromised on my sangathan responsibilities, never will.”

Another user echoed the sentiments of Smriti's fans by requesting her to remain active in politics.
The X post read, "Will all due respect for your decision to return back to the media. Me and like me thousands of your admirers will wish your active presence in politics too. Specifically when the Bengal and UP election is around the corner. PS - My mother was super happy when she heard this news."

The actress-turned-politician replied, “My pranaam to your Ma… be assured of my active political contribution during the forthcoming elections as assigned by the sangathan."
Smriti made her name in the entertainment world with the iconic show Kyunki. After gaining limelight in showbiz, she stepped away from it and entered politics. She joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2003.Since, then she has been active in the field. As a Union Minister, she held portfolios in Human Resource Development, Textiles, Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs.
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is set to make its long-awaited comeback with Smriti Irani reprising her role as Tulsi, along with Amar Upadhyay as Mihir. The show is set to premiere on July 29 at 10.30 pm on Star Plus. It will also be available for streaming on the OTT platform JioHotstar.
