Soha Ali Khan recently launched her podcast channel named All About Her, which premiered on YouTube on August 22, 2025. The podcast is dedicated to addressing the issues surrounding women's wellness, health and personal experiences in a non-judgmental and candid space. As per the format, women from various inspiring fields come and grace the show with their stories and experiences. Till now, several celebrities like Malaika Arora, Sunny Leone and Patralekhaa have joined the host. In a new episode, politician Smriti Irani also joined the host and discussed some important narratives revolving around her.
Smriti Irani recently appeared on Soha’s podcast, where the duo shared a heart-to-heart conversation about her political career, the stereotypes she faced and her struggles throughout the journey. During the podcast, Soha Ali Khan asked the Union Minister whether being a popular face was an advantage or a disadvantage.
The actress turned politician replied, “A disadvantage. Because everybody presumed actors treated politics as something they did at the very end of their careers, not something they pursued seriously from the ground up. Most actors are parachuted into politics because of their popularity and then just become Rajya Sabha members.”
She further discussed her journey and said, “I was not one of those. When I came into active politics in 2003, I started as a youth wing member of the BJP in Maharashtra. My batchmate today is the CM of Maharashtra, and my other colleague, Dharmendra Pradhan, is now the Minister of Education. But even then, I wanted to be in the trenches, working alongside my colleagues and gaining their respect, because I knew I was in it for the long haul.”
Smriti Irani further discussed her career and added, “I worked my way through grassroots responsibilities, later becoming the State Secretary in Maharashtra when Nitin Gadkari became president. I've worked with five BJP presidents - Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Amit Shah, J P Nadda, and at that time, Venkaiah Naidu. In 2004, I fought my first election at the age of 27. So I can safely say, been there, done that."
Meanwhile, on the work front, Smriti Irani made a recent comeback to the small screen, reprising her iconic role as Tulsi Virani in the reboot of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. She returned to her acting roots for this special project. The reboot, which premiered on July 29, 2025, sees her stepping back into the shoes of the virtuous daughter-in-law, much to the excitement of longtime fans.
