Smriti Irani, the well-known television actress and Union Minister, made a striking comeback to the fashion world after more than 20 years. Appearing at Bombay Fashion Week, Irani walked the ramp barefoot, a gesture that quickly caught the attention of audiences and social media users alike. Her appearance marked a nostalgic yet powerful return to her modelling roots from the 1990s, combining tradition, grace and confidence in one memorable moment.

A video of the event went viral, showing Smriti IraniIrani dressed in a purple saree with a white base, paired with a statement necklace, sunglasses, and minimal makeup. Her look was widely praised for its simplicity and elegance. Many viewers described her barefoot walk as a symbolic act of authenticity, standing apart in an industry often known for its glamour and high heels. As Irani greeted the audience with her signature namaskar, fans and celebrities alike applauded her poise and humility. Social media was flooded with admiration, with one user calling her “a model-turned-actor-turned-politician-turned-actor-turned-model,” while another praised her “never give up attitude.” Some light-hearted comments also emerged online. On the other hand, Smriti Irani’s journey began in the fashion and modelling industry during the 1990s, long before she became a household name as Tulsi Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Her portrayal of Tulsi remains one of the most iconic roles in Indian television history. Following her success on television, Irani transitioned into politics, joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She rose through the ranks to hold key ministerial positions, including that of the Education Minister, and became known for her strong will, discipline, and leadership.
