Student Of The Year 2 fame Vishal Brahma has been arrested by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at Chennai airport for allegedly attempting to smuggle drugs valued at around Rs 40 crore, according to a report in India Today. The actor was carrying methaqualone, a recreational drug, was intercepted upon his arrival in Chennai from Singapore on Air India flight AI 347. Authorities suspect he was recruited by a Nigerian drug syndicate to smuggle the illegal substances into India.

According to a report in Times Of India, during a thorough examination of his luggage, customs officers discovered a hidden compartment in the bottom of his trolley bag, containing several plastic bags filled with a white powdery substance. A field test was conducted, which confirmed the substance to be cocaine.

The seized contraband weighed approximately 3.5 kilograms. Further investigation is underway to determine the extent of Vishal's involvement and potential connections to international drug trafficking networks.

Before his recent involvement in the drug bust, Vishal had a brief stint in Bollywood, appearing in the 2019 film Student of the Year 2 alongside Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday, and Tara Sutaria.

Apart from Student of the Year 2, Vishal also acted in the 2025 film Bihu Attack. However, his experience with the film wasn't without controversy. In August 2024, he accused the film's producers of withholding his payment, claiming he spent a month on set at his own expense and faced difficulties in getting a response about his dues.
