Sunjay Kapur's Funeral Today: The funeral of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband and industrialist, Sunjay Kapur, will take place in Delhi today (June 19). Kapur died of a heart attack while playing polo in London. On Wednesday, Sunjay's family issued a press note, stating details about the funeral, as reported by NDTV.

A note circulating on social media announced a prayer meeting for Sunjay Kapur, to be held on June 22 between 4 pm and 5 pm at the Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi. The note, signed by his family members including mother Rani Surinder Kapur, wife Priya Kapoor, and children Safira, Azarias, Samaira, and Kiaan, invites friends and well-wishers to pay their respects.

Earlier, there were reports that the funeral has been delayed due to legal formalities related to Sunjay's family matters. Sunjay's father-in-law Ashok Sachdev, earlier told NDTV, "The postmortem is currently underway. Once the paperwork is complete, the body will be brought to India for the last rites."

Sunjay Kapur tragically passed away on June 12 during a polo match in Windsor, England. While initial reports indicated that he suffered a heart attack, later accounts suggested that the heart attack might have been triggered by a freak accident involving a bee sting. According to witnesses, the industrialist reportedly said, "I've swallowed something," before collapsing on the field.

Despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead. His company, Sona Comstar, confirmed his death due to a "sudden heart attack" but didn't specify the cause. Sunjay's polo team, Sujan India Tigers, paid a heartfelt tribute to him, sharing his last photo taken moments before the match.
