Sunjay Kapur, a businessman from the UK and the ex-husband of Karisma Kapoor, passed away, leaving his loved ones grieving. He departed for the heavenly dwelling on June 12, 2025 while play polo in UK. He was laid to rest in New Delhi on June 19th. His sister, Mandhira Kapur shared a heartbreaking note on Instagram days after his demise. She also disclosed that their egos prevented them from communicating for years.

Sunjay Kapur's sister opened with a confession, accompanied by adorable childhood pictures, that she and her brother had not spoken for almost four years because of a small fight that had grown out of hand and caused them to become emotionally estranged. She had happy memories of their days together, laughing as a close family, sneaking around, and talking late into the night. He was always 'a true big brother and a friend,' she claimed, and mentioned regreting growing apart from him.

Sunjay Kapur's sister Mandhira revealed that a 'silly sibling squabble' had kept her and her brother emotionally apart for the last four years. "My brother and I may not have spoken for the last 4 years, a silly sibling squabble escalated to crazy levels due to egos and natural bullishness, however, that will never take back what we were and what we had," she shared.

The late businessman's sister further mentioned, "What happened towards the end has been both horrible and pointless, I will never have my moments with him again. We will never be us and it is devastating that we didn’t fix what had become broken and so now my heart is the same. I am sure he knew despite our recent estrangement that I loved him and in my soul I am sure he shared the same hope as I, that one day we would be as amazing as we were for the first 47 years. Of this I am sure and take some small comfort (sic)."

"To anyone and everyone who has fallen out with someone they love, be it family or friend, please learn from my story, life is fragile and delicate, each day is a gift, do not miss a day even an hour in some fickleness, you can never be assured that you will have the opportunity to repair the void and if you don’t, then that’s pretty much all that is left, coupled with regret. I would give anything to just see my bhaiya one last time and tell him how much I love him," she concluded her eulogy saying mend your differences with friends or family and don't waste your days in foolishness. 

Sunjay Kapur's first wife, Nandita Mahtani responded with red hearts emojis in the comment section. Anaita Shroff, Bhavana Pandey and several others from Bollywood reacted to the grieving post.

Meanwhile, Sunjay Kapur's family and close friends, including Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan attended his last ceremonies at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground (Dayanand Muktidham). Actor and family friend Suhel Seth said that the heart attack might have been brought on by a bee sting event that happened during the game.
