Tamil actor Suriya's 45th movie, tentatively titled ‘Suriya 45’, is highly anticipated. The actor, known for movies like Retro, Kanguva, and Jai Bhim, among others, announced his collaboration with director RJ Balaji last year. The makers are reportedly planning to release the movie's teaser this month, celebrating director RJ Balaji's birthday. The movie is set to be an action-adventure project, bankrolled by Dream Warrior Pictures.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, makers of Suriya’s ‘Suriya 45’ are likely to drop the teaser on June 20, 2025. Although no official confirmation has been made yet. The movie will see Suriya as a lawyer and will also star Trisha Krishnan in key role. The Retro actor, who has been choosing diverse and challenging roles in recent years, is expected to bring his versatility to this new project.

Meanwhile, Suriya has officially commenced shooting for his other movie, tentatively titled 'Suriya 46', under the direction of acclaimed Telugu filmmaker Venky Atluri. While further details remain undisclosed, an announcement poster for the Telugu movie was recently released. The movie also stars ‘Premalu’ actress Mamitha Baiju as the female lead. According to a report in India Today, Radhika Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon are also set to appear in prominent roles alongside Suriya and Mamitha Baiju in the movie. 

The production house, Sithata Entertainments, took to their X and shared the poster with the caption, “The first step towards celebration, emotion and entertainment #Suriya46 shoot begins!" The poster featured Suriya in a stylish semi-formal get-up, as the text on the poster read,”And the celebration begins.”

Venky Atluri, best known for storytelling with emotional heft in Telugu hits like Vaathi and Lucky Baskhar, will also team up with composer G.V. Prakash Kumar for the movie. Venky Atluri's last movie, 'Lucky Bhaskar', starring Dulquer Salmaan and Meenakshi Chaudhary, was a blockbuster hit, grossing over Rs 110 crore worldwide. The movie was released in October last year on OTT platform Netflix.

About Suriya’s Last Movie Retro

Suriya starrer Retro, released on May 1, was a gripping gangster drama. In the movie, Suriya portrays a character struggling to break free from a violent past. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the movie made a significant impact at the box office with a total nett collection of Rs 60.26 Cr in India and a worldwide collection of Rs 96.97 Cr, according to Sacnilk. The movie also made its OTT debut on Netflix, with netizens especially lauding Suriya’s powerful performance. The ensemble cast included actors like Pooja Hegde, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, Prakash Raj, and Jayaram, adding depth to the intense narrative. In addition, Shriya Saran made a special cameo appearance in the movie.
