Mahesh Babu is a popular Telugu actor known for his charming onscreen presence and blockbuster hits. The Spyder actor has been making headlines once again—but this time for a different reason. The actor, who has been a consistent face in Tollywood for decades has now found himself caught in a legal issue over a past real estate promotion. Mahesh Babu has reportedly been served a legal notice by the Ranga Reddy District Consumer Commission in Telangana. 

According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, a Hyderabad-based doctor filed a complaint against Mahesh Babu and a real estate company named Sai Surya Developers. She claims she was cheated out of Rs 34.8 lakh after purchasing land which according to her doesn’t exist. Meanwhile, the Telugu actor has been named as the third respondent in the complaint. It is alleged that his endorsement of the company played a major role in influencing buyers to trust the developer. The complainant stated that Mahesh Babu’s association with Sai Surya Developers helped the company appear credible, which led her and others to invest in the project.

As of now, neither Mahesh Babu nor his representatives have responded publicly to the legal notice or the claims made in the complaint. The case is currently being looked into by the authorities.

However, this is not the first time Mahesh Babu’s name has come up in relation to Sai Surya Developers. In April 2025, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had reportedly questioned the actor during an ongoing money laundering investigation involving the same company and the Surana Group. According to a report in PTI, the company’s owner, Kancharla Satish Chandra Gupta, was under investigation for financial fraud linked to a failed real estate project titled Green Meadows. Mahesh Babu had been the brand ambassador for this project and was reportedly paid Rs 5.9 crore through both checks and cash.

However, the report further made it clear that the actor was not considered an accused. He was believed to have promoted the project in good faith, without being aware of any fraudulent activities.

Mahesh Babu’s Upcoming Projects

On the work front, Mahesh Babu continues to focus on his film career. He was last seen in Guntur Kaaram (2023), directed by Trivikram Srinivas. The movie also featured Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishnan, and Sreeleela in supporting roles. The Telugu movie received mixed reviews but performed decently at the box office. Currently, the actor is busy shooting for SSMB 29, a much-anticipated jungle adventure movie directed by SS Rajamouli. With the title yet to be revealed, the movie also features Priyanka Chopra and Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran.
