The Bengal Files Box Office Collection Day 12: The Bengal Files faced competition from Tiger Shroff's Baaghi 4 and The Conjuring: Last Rites at the box office. The Hollywood horror franchise film outperformed the other two Hindi releases. The Conjuring: Last Rites brought in Rs 67.87 crore by the end of the first week while Baaghi 4 has failed to surpass the Rs 50 crore milestone in the past week. Of the three films, The Bengal Files has made the least amount of money. Nevertheless, the intense political drama has generated a lot of hype but it was screened in fewer theaters. In fact no screening at Bengal, the film's primary market, had a major impact at the box office.

The Bengal Files had grown a little over its first Saturday and Sunday. The movie made around Rs 1 crore over the week, and by the end of the first week, with Thursday's earnings, it had made Rs 11.25 crore. The movie earned Rs 6 lakh on day eight, which is the second Friday. It did, however, see some modest improvement over the second weekend, earning Rs 1.1 crore on Saturday and Rs 1.15 crore on Sunday.

The Bengal Files made just Rs 4 lakh on Monday, day 11, and Rs 50 lakh on Tuesday, day 12. At this point, the intense political drama has brought in a total of Rs 15 crore.

The Bengal Files has been released all across the world, but because of political pressure, West Bengali theater operators have chosen not to show it. The makers, viewers, and other authorities then urged that the government grant them permission to exhibit the film in West Bengal, which resulted in a momentous occasion.

Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri was discussing The Bengal Files, which was screened at The National Library of India in Kolkata on September 13 a few days after it was released. At the special screening of The Bengal Files in Kolkata, Vivek Agnihotri expressed his happiness. He said, "It is a matter of great joy that this film is being screened at the National Library. However, it is also disheartening that, despite being set in Bengal, people of the state are being prevented from watching the movie."

Will The Bengal Files Fizzle?

The Bengal Files aims to unnerve the audience by presenting the violence of 1946–1947 in an unvarnished and unfiltered manner. In the present day, an IPS officer is sent to Murshiabad (a reference to Sandeshkhali) to solve the mystery of the missing girl. In order to demonstrate that the Partition was never the end but rather the beginning, Ma Bharati connects the Bengal of the past to the Bengal of the present by recalling the atrocities of the Noakhali riots and mass rapes that she witnessed during his research.

The film's momentum seems to be waning quickly, despite its powerful cast and compelling subject matter. However, the creators are still hopeful for a recovery over the weekend. Starring Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Darshan Kumar, Anupam Kher, and Simrat Kaur, the film was written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri.
