The 71st National Film Awards ceremony celebrated the contribution and exceptional talent of artists in Indian cinema with prestigious honours. The event was held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. For superstar Shah Rukh Khan, it was a particularly special evening, as he received his first-ever National Award in an illustrious career spanning over three decades. The actor won Best Actor for his performance in Atlee’s blockbuster Jawan. After his wife, Gauri Khan, shared her joy, their children Aryan and Suhana Khan also marked this milestone with a special post on social media.
Aryan Khan and Suhana Khan shared a joint post on Instagram to celebrate their father's big moment. They posted a stylish photo of SRK all suited up at the ceremony. The post read, “You always said you never win the silver, only lose the gold, but this Silver is Gold… Our hearts are so happy seeing you receive the prestigious National Award. Congratulations, Papa, we love you."

SRK received the Silver Lotus Award (Rajat Kamal) from President Droupadi Murmu for his performance in Jawan. He shared the Best actor award with Vikrant Massey, who was honoured for his role in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's directorial 12th Fail.
Directed by Atlee, Jawan was released in 2023. The film featured SRK in a dual role, delivering a performance packed with intense action, emotion, and intensity. The movie also starred Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Sanjay Dutt and Deepika Padukone, who appeared in an extended special cameo in the movie. The film became one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, and SRK's performance struck a chord with audiences worldwide, earning him one of the highest honours in Indian cinema.
The ceremony also recognised other outstanding artists and films, including Rani Mukerji for Best Actress award for her powerful, emotional performance in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway. Kathal: A Jackfruit Mystery took home the Best Hindi Film award. Regional films also received recognition at the ceremony.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is currently busy gearing up for his upcoming action drama, King, which also stars his daughter Suhana. He also made a special appearance in his son Aryan Khan's directorial debut series The Ba***ds Of Bollywood.
