Jeetendra recently appeared on Indian Idol Season 16 to pay tribute to the late veteran actor and his dear friend, Dharmendra, following his sudden death. The bond they shared goes way back in time as they were seen in numerous movies together and remained one of Bollywood’s most beloved on-screen duos, making the loss more personal for Jeetendra.

Sony TV shared the promo of their upcoming special episode on social media. In the video, Jeetendra can be seen getting emotional during a special segment dedicated to Dharmendra. The promo opens with a voice saying, "Jeetendra ji pohanche apne dost ko karne yaad (Jeetendra ji has arrived to remember his friend)."

In the clip, Jeetendra opens up about their deep bond and says, "Bahut hi nek insaan the, meri life mein unka Bahut bada contribution hai (He was a very kind man and he has a huge contribution in my life)." As the video continued, the judge of the show, rapper Badshah, was also seen getting emotional and fighting back tears. This special episode is all set to air on Sony TV this weekend.

Dharmendra And Jeetendra's Movies

Two prominent stars shared screen space many times and were the ultimate duo of Hindi cinema. Their 1977 movie, Dharam Veer is a cult favourite. They worked together in The Burning Train in 1980, Kinara in 1982, JaanHatheliPe in 1987 and Sone PeSuhaaga in 1988 and graced the theatres with some classic movies.

On Dharmendra's sudden death, Jeetendra expressed his deep sorrow on losing his closest friend. He told The Times of India, “I don’t have words right now to express the intensity of emotion in my heart! I’ve lost a friend, more a brother to me! Even though we met less frequently in the last few decades, our friendship has always stood the test of time. An everlasting connection that went far beyond the professional equation we shared as co-actors in the several films we made together. The moments we shared shall live on forever in my heart. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. RIP Dharam ji!”

Veteran actor Dharmendra left for the holy abode at the age of 89. He passed away on November 24 after being critically ill for a long time. The late actor’s last rites took place on the same day at Pawan Hans Cremetorium, where his friends from the industry and family were all present to pay their respects and bid a final goodbye to the actor.
