The Kaanta Laga fame Shefali Jariwala’s sudden demise at the age of 42 has sent shockwaves across the nation. Her last rites were held on Saturday with family, friends and industry members paying their last respects to the actress. Photos and videos of Shefali’s husband, Parag Tyagi, and her family crying inconsolably during the ceremony were widely shared on social media. Following this, actor Varun Dhawan slammed the media for its insensitive coverage. He urged them to show respect for privacy during times of grief. Without mentioning any name, he also added that this isn’t the way someone would want their final journey to be covered.
Varun Dhawan took to his Instagram story and posted, "Again one more passing of a soul being insensitively covered by the media. I just don’t understand why do u have to cover someone’s grief everyone looks so uncomfortable with this how is this benefitting anyone. My request to my friends in the media this isn’t the way someone would want their final journey covered."
After performing the last rites of his wife Shefali, Parag Tyagi appeared before the media and requested them to respect his privacy during this tough time. He said, "Please mazaak, drama mat banayega, mai aap sabse request karta hu, meri pari ke liye pray kijiyega aap sab. Woh jaha bhi ho khush rahe aur shanti se rahe bas. Please ab band kijiye." After this, fans showed their support and asked the media and everyone to leave the family alone to grieve.
Earlier today, Parag was seen crying after bidding his wife a final goodbye as he immersed her ashes into the sea.
Shefali Jariwala breathed her last on June 27. She was rushed to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Mumbai by her husband Parag Tyagi and three close friends. However, she was declared brought dead.
The exact cause of her death has not been confirmed yet. Several reports have claimed that it was a cardiac arrest. Mumbai police have been investigating the Shefali's death.
