‘Was Part Of Script’: Sonu Sood REACTS After Receiving Backlash For Riding Bike Without Helmet In Himachal’s Spiti

Sonu Sood recently broke his silence on the recent controversy regarding riding a bike without a helmet in Himachal Pradesh’s Spiti. The actor received a huge backlash for riding without a helmet. Not only that, the state police in a statement shared that if the clip turned out to be authentic, then legal action will be taken against Sood. Now, the Fateh actor finally responded and issued a statement where he clarified that the stint was part of a script, and it was an old video. He further urged people to wear helmets whenever they are riding. 

Sonu Sood tweeted, “Safety First. We always abide by the laws, an old clip without the helmet was a part of our script. So kindly ignore. RIDE SAFE RIDE SMART. ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET.” Fans now talked in favour of the actor. A user wrote, “Yes always wear a helmet and ride responsibly. #NoHelmetNoRide @himachalpolice jane do sir maaf kar do naa please. @SonuSood is a good man.” Another said, “True son of india.” A comment read, “True son of india.” Another said, “My real hero sonusood.” 

His response to Spiti police’s statement, “A video is going viral on social media in which a Bollywood actor is seen violating traffic rules in Lahaul-Spiti district. According to preliminary information, the video appears to be from the year 2023. The task of investigating the authenticity has been handed over to DySP Headquarters, Kyelang. Whatever necessary action is required as per the law, it will be taken by the district police. District Police Lahaul-Spiti appeals to all citizens and tourists to follow traffic rules and adopt disciplined and responsible behaviour.”

On the work front, Sonu Sood was last seen in Fateh, which released in January 2025. The film stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Shivjyoti Rajput, Naseeruddin Shah and  Vijay Raaz in pivotal roles. Fateh is now streaming on JioHotstar after its theatrical run.
