Kapil Sharma and wife Ginni Chatrath’s newly launched The Kap’s Cafe in Surrey, Canada, had a gunfire attack at Wednesday night. The attack was done by a gunman, firing nine rounds at the cafe’s glass facade. There were no casualties reported as the attack occurred at midnight. But the property was damaged. The CCTV near the cafe captured the horrific incident and the video soon went viral on social media. Amid this situation, The Kaps Cafe’s team has issued their first statement on Instagram stories, spreading positivity and urging fans to keep extending their support to them.

In the official statement shared on Instagram story, The Kap’s Cafe team wrote, “We opened Kap’s Cafe with hopes of bringing warmth, community, and joy through delicious coffee and friendly conversation. To have violence intersect with that dream is heartbreaking. We are processing this shock, but we are not giving up.”

It further read, “Thank you for Your Support. Your kind words, prayers, and memories shared via DM mean more than you know. This cafe exists because of your belief in what we’re building together. Let’s stand firm against violence and ensure Kap’s Cafe remains a place of warmth and community.”

The statement concluded, “From all of us at Kap’s Cafe, thank you and see you soon, under better skies— With hope and gratitude #supportkapscafecanada.”

The Kap's Cafe team also thanked the local police for their promt action. They shared another note on Instagram, which reads, "We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the @surreypolice and @deltapd for their prompt response and efforts in ensuring everyone’s safety during this difficult time."

Khalistani terrorist Harjeet Singh Laddi, who is from banned group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) has taken responsibility for the shooting incident through an online message. He alleged that the attack was conducted in response to the comment on Nihang Singhs made by the comedian at the Kapil Sharma Show. 

Notably, with Kap's Cafe, Kapil Sharma stepped into the hospitality venture along with his wife Ginni Chatrath. The cafe was opened a few days back, ahead of the horrific incident. Kapil has not shared any personal statement yet about the incident yet.
