Four years have passed since Vecna's defeat and the gates of Upside Down were closed by Eleven. However, the fight is not over. Stranger Things Season 5 trailer showcased Vecna's more powerful return. He is all set for a final battle. "We can begin," he says, which itself sets the tone of the finale season. Vecna is not slowing down and this time he's fully prepared to unleash an unstoppable havoc on Hawkins. The entire crew who is going against Vecna is feeling like losing everything, but Eleven is there to give her all in order to save everyone. The war that started with Eleven's power has spiraled dangerously out of control, forcing her to confront her greatest enemy. Will Eleven open the gates of Upside Down, one last time?

Will Eleven Open The Gate Of Upside Down?

Let us imagine that Eleven returns to Hawkins and finds that her friend's mind is still stuck in the upside down. Max is still unresponsive as her mind is somewhere between life and void. Now, in order to help her friend, Eleven might be forced to take a step she once swore she never would- a choice that could change everything. But what if, in the future that awaits, she takes that step not out of fear, but out of love- to bring Max's memory back.

If the gate finally opens, Eleven surely would step into the collapsing world where she might find out that the Upside Down is not just another world, it is a reflection of her own mind. Every darkness in the upside down is born from her pain. However, Max, whose conscience is stuck in the dark world, needs to be rescued. What if Eleven finds that Vecna has captured Max’s mind, feeding on her fear and guilt?

In order to save her, El might use her telekinetic powers to enter into Max's mind and fight Vecna. This wouldn't be easy as Vecna would try to fail her time and again with visions of pain, but Eleven must focus on her mission. As always, Eleven must channel her powers and break Vecna's control on Max's spirit, only then Vecna's hold on Max will be destroyed and in the outside world. If Eleven accomplishes it, Max might regain her consciousness in the outside world.

Hawkins may be safe for now, but what if, in the future, the gates open once again? What if closing them means Eleven can’t make it back this time? The only way to protect Hawkins would be if El stays behind, otherwise, Vecna might wreak havoc in the town. Perhaps, she wouldn't be gone forever though. May be she has not died and is inside not to let the monsters out, but to finally let the light in.
