Sunjay Kapur's sudden demise has shocked the entertainment and business sectors, but it has also caused a minor succession issue at  his company, Sona Comstar. Karisma Kapur's ex-husband led one of the largest car component businesses in the world. According to reports, he was playing polo when he had a heart attack that killed him. 

Sunjay Kapur led the company's growth into new markets by taking over when his father passed away in 2015. Bloomberg reports that Sona Comstar is valued at Rs 31000 crore, or around $4 billion. Business Today stated that the company's stock fell 7% when the markets opened Friday following the announcement of his passing.

Sunjay Kapur's company addressed his demise in an official statement, which read, " His vision, values, and dedication to excellence has left a lasting legacy for the company. We assure our customers, business partners, employees, and shareholders that our operations and prospects remain unchanged as we honour his legacy."

Who Will Inherit Sunjay Kapur's Billion Dollar Empire?

Sunjay Kapur has three children. Samaira, 14, and Kiaan, his two children with Karisma. Azarias, the youngest of his three children with Priya Sachdev, is only six years old. Right now, none of them is anticipated to assume control.

Sunjay Kapur's net worth at the time of his passing was $1.2 billion, or ₹10300 crore, according to Forbes. His highest net worth in 2022 and 2024 was $1.6 billion (₹13000 crore), as per the magazine.

India.com reports that Sunjay Kapur's sisters will probably run the company after he died from a heart attack brought on by ingesting a bee. He has two sisters who are successful in their own right. Superna Kapur Motwane is a magazine editor, and Mandira Kapur Koirala founded Sona Mandira Pvt Ltd (SMPL), a company that specialises in auto parts. A legal disagreement previously arose between Mandira and Sunjay regarding the usage of the brand name 'Sona,' which was created by their late father, Dr. Surinder Kapur.

Sunjay Kapur was married to Karisma Kapoor from 2003 to 2016. He was previously married from 1996 to 2000 to fashion designer and stylist Nandita Mahtani. He then married model-turned-actor Priya Sachdev in 2017.
