A Look Back Aishwraya Rai And Abhishek Bachchan's Wedding
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai officially married on April 20, 2007. At the time, it was hailed by the media as one of the most significant events in Indian cinema history. As they reach this 19-year landmark, fans have been revisiting some of the couple’s most touching comments about their journey together.
Over the years, the pair has been vocal about the respect and friendship that forms the foundation of their marriage. Aishwarya Rai shared with Vogue, "I love that Abhi is this mix of a well-mannered, chivalrous boy and a knight in shining armour." Beyond her praise for Abhishek, Aishwarya has also offered her philosophy on love and commitment. The Devdas actress stated, "Keep the faith. Believe in it, heart, mind and soul. The body will follow anyway! Be brutally frank with yourself. You are your own best friend. Experience everything for real, and you will cherish it forever."

Meanwhile, visiting Abhishek’s old quote, he spoke about how naturally Aishwarya became part of the Bachchan family. In a 2009 joint chat, he said, “They were formal initially, that whole damaad thing, but I’m quite a charmer. I don’t call before I go over to my in-laws. I just hop over the bed and ask for food. Similarly, although no one can ever take my sister’s place, Ash is a second daughter to my parents. For a young girl who’s moved into a new home, it can be quite intimidating to have Amitabh Bachchan say ‘good morning’ to you every morning [imitates his father’s authoritative voice]. But today, my dad talks more with her than me.”
On the work front, Aishwarya Rai was last seen in 2023 thriller Ponniyin Selvan: Part II. On the other hand, Abhishek Bachchan is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie Raja Shivaji which is scheduled to hit theatres on May 1, 2026.
