Asrani, a veteran actor, passed away in Mumbai on October 20, 2025. The late actor once discussed his experience of working with Sunny Leone in the adult comedy Mastizaade, expressing his dissatisfaction with the film's 'vulgar' comedy. The actor, who is well-known for his parts in Sholay, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Dhamaal, talked on how comedy in Hindi films has changed over time, highlighting a move away from provocative language and toward more explicit content.

Asrani said in an interview with PTI, "It's terrible and horrible (the vulgarity in films these days). I did not know that the film would be made like this."

Asrani added, "Mehmood sahab had started using double-meaning dialogues and some of them worked, so others tried to cash in on the formula. It was still double meaning then, but now it is vulgar, all that remains is taking clothes off." The late actor thought such films will eventually be rejected by Indian audiences, who are mostly family-oriented.

His belief in the importance of family Asrani expressed confidence that Indian consumers would eventually favor family-oriented films, even though he criticized recent film trends.
