Shefali Jariwala and Harmeet Singh were married before she met the love of her life, TV actor Parag Tyagi. They dated for a short time before getting married in 2004. She even collaborated on a few Meet Bros. music videos, such as Pyaar Humaayn Kis Mod Pe Le Aaya, with Harmeet. But after a few years, their marriage collapsed, and they were divorced in 2009.
Harmeet Singh appeared in well-known television series such as Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, KKusum, and Ekta Kapoor's Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki before exploring his musical side. He has largely avoided the media and has refrained from discussing his marital life with them.
Why Did Shefali And Harmeet Part Ways?
The Times of India reports that Shefali Jariwala filed a formal complaint at the Oshiwara police station following their separation. She accused him of domestic violence. According to several media sources, the late actor stated that during their marriage, Harmeet had physically abused her and mistreated her emotionally. Additionally, the actress accused him of withdrawing Rs. 12 lakh from their joint bank account without her permission.
The fans were taken aback by the grave accusations, which garnered media attention in 2009. Despite being one of the most talked-about celebrity splits, Harmeet hardly ever brought up the subject.

Later, though, Shefali Jariwala mentioned the subject in passing in an interview with Times Now Digital, clarifying that not all forms of violence are physical. She also said that only because she was financially independent did she make the tough choice to break up with Harmeet. "It is very important to understand that you are not being appreciated. Not every kind of violence is physical. There is a lot of mental violence that also happens, and you are very unhappy in your life. I think one of the reasons why I could decide for myself was because I was independent. The biggest fear in our country is society. Divorce is considered to be taboo, but the way I have been raised is to not really care about society but just do what we feel is right," she shared.

Shefali's ex-husband, Harmeet Singh, informed Vicky Lalwani that he was devastated by her passing in his first remarks after she passed away. The singer added that he was in Europe at the moment."The fact that Shefali (Jariwala) is no more is shattering. I am in Europe," he said.
He also recalled the time when they met three years back and sat next to each other in a private plane. "I remember having gone to Bangladesh for a show, about two-three years ago. Sunny Leone and Shefali were also there. We three came back together in a private plane, and Shefali and I sat next to each other. And yes, there was quite a long conversation that we had. Apart from that, I did meet her at a few events and parties where I remember we both wishing each other warmly," he added.
