Cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has once again become the talk of social media — but this time, it’s unrelated to his game. The Indian leg-spinner’s recent Instagram story has sparked buzz online, with many speculating that it was a subtle dig at his ex-wife, Dhanashree Verma, while also alluding to a recent Delhi High Court verdict.
Chahal shared a screenshot of a court verdict that read, "Financially independent wives cannot demand alimony from their husbands." He wrote, "Maa Kasam Khao Nahi Paltoge iss Decision Seh." Although the post was deleted soon after it was shared, it quickly went viral, sparking widespread discussion among fans about whether Chahal was indirectly targeting Dhanashree or merely expressing support for the court’s ruling.

However, recently during her stint in Rise and Fall, Dhanashree Verma set the record straight and called the alimony rumors baseless, stating their divorce was mutual and happened quickly. She revealed that they dated for 6-7 months before marrying and were together for 4 years as a married couple. She further added, "Just because I am not saying anything, you will go on making things up? My parents have taught me to justify myself only to those I care about. Why waste time explaining to people who do not even know you?"

Clarifying the alimony buzz, she said, "Eventually, you get hurt when you see that happening. It was not needed. None of it is true. I felt worse wondering why he did it. It is okay; I will always keep his respect - that is what I believe in. Now, I do not think I can date anybody."
Earlier, Dhanashree's family had issued a statement about the alleged Rs 60-crore demand. They wrote in a statement, "We are deeply outraged by the baseless claims being circulated about the alimony figure. Let me be absolutely clear: such an amount has never been asked, demanded, or even offered. There is no truth to these rumours whatsoever. It is deeply irresponsible to publish such unverified information, dragging not just the parties but also their families into unnecessary speculation. Reckless reporting like this only causes harm, and we urge the media to exercise restraint, fact-check before spreading misinformation, and respect everyone's privacy."
