Nushrratt Bharuccha has made her niche in the industry by potraying different roles in her acting career. She is currently garnering praise for her performance in Chhorii 2. The horror movie which also starred Soha Ali Khan and was released on OTT platform Amazon Prime Video on 11 April 2025. Recently, the actress addressed harsh reality of Gender Discrimination in Bollywood and shared her experience of being discriminated due to her gender.

Nushrratt Bharuccha recently talked about her journey in the film industry and how she felt her opinions didn’t matter. In a conversation with Shubhankar Mishra for his YouTube channel, she revealed, "When I'm in a group full of industry people or creative minds, does my opinion count or matter? Maybe not that much. Does this question ‘Itne sawaal puchne ki kya zaroorat hai?’" Explaining her take, she stated, "I'm not asking from the point of view of sounding authoritative or playing a power game. I'm asking questions because I genuinely don't know. I would just like to be knowledgeable."

Disappointed by response she has got, the actress stated, "By this, you are basically telling me, don't learn, don't question. Do as much as you know. Do as much as you have learned, why? That I do feel exists."

The Chhorii actress stated that her choices don't depend on validation from the other gender.

Nushrratt shared, "I live by my own rights. I live by my own mind and my own understanding. My choices are mine. They don't depend on another man if that's what it has to be. They don't depend on validation from the other gender."

Emphasizing her point and experience, the actress added, "Do I feel like there are things that are not equal, or do I face a slight discrimination 'cause I'm a woman or a girl? That feeling, does that make me a feminist? I don't know. I can't call myself a feminist because the term exists and it's used largely. I want to associate with the right meaning of it."

In the same interview, she also reacted on the backlash she received online. "Whether it’s about my clothes or where I go, I’ve faced comments. When I post my picture, people ask, 'What kind of Muslim is she? Look at her clothes.'"

Reveaing how she handle all the backlash, Nushrratt continued, "Just like any other criticism. Whether it's about my religion, my character, my career choices, or the things I say. The criticism comes from all directions."

Nushrratt Bharuccha has delivered some memorable performances in movies such as Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Akelli, Chhorii, Dream Girl, and others. She has proved her acting prowess with her versatility. However, she has received fewer opportunities and has often faced replacements for example in Dream Girl 2, she was replaced by Ananya Panday.
