OMG 2 Box Office Collection Day 5: Akshay Kumar Starrer Rakes Highest Numbers On Independence Day; Fails To Compete With ‘Gadar 2’

Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi's courtroom drama reached a crescendo as viewers eagerly awaited for the arrival of 'OMG 2.' Having powerhouse actors in the film including Yami Gautam, 'OMG 2' is brewing decent numbers at the box office. The film deals with a sensitive topic that has not connected with the audience in mass sectors in India. But, this did not limit the overall reach of the venture.

As the film continues its box office journey, 'OMG 2' earned Rs 18.50 Crore on Day 5. The total collection of the film in India stands at around Rs 73.67 Crore. This increase of nearly 65% from its opening day collection of Rs 10.26 Crore is attributed to the Independence Day holiday which helped greatly in the film's collection.

Another factor that is working in favor of the film is witnessing a box office clash with 'Gadar 2.' While the Sunny Deol starrer has been rewriting box office records, the overspill audience from the film has been venturing for 'OMG 2' giving it a much-required boost. Also, thanks to the actor's petition to revise the 'Adults Only' rating and the marketing hype which increased the bolstering business of 'OMG 2.'

Raking steady numbers at the box office, early predictions claim that if the film continues to mint numbers in this fashion, it will soon enter Rs 100 Crore club by the end of its first week. 'OMG 2' is distributed by Viacom18 Studios and also stars 'Ramayan' fame actor Arun Govil alongside the leading cast.
