‘OMG 2’ stars Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi in lead roles and hit theatres on August 11. The film is helmed by Amit Rai and witnessed a smashing box office clash with Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2.’ The box office record of ‘Gadar 2’ was around Rs 500 Crore, however, ‘OMG 2’ successfully managed to cross Rs 100 Crore at the box office and was a commercial success. The film also collected positive reviews from audience and critics, whereas the storyline and performances of the lead characters were hailed by the public.
Now, nearly two months of its theatrical release, the film is set to release online. The makers of the film have partnered up with the streaming platform Netflix, and will release on October 8. On October 3, Netflix India announced the OTT release of the film. Sharing an official poster of ‘OMG 2’, the social media handle of Netflix wrote, “We’ve got great news for you, and OMG can you tell we’re 2 excited? #OMG2 arrives 8 October, on Netflix."

Akshay Kumar also commented on the OTT release of the film. According to a report in DNA, he said, “We are thrilled by the enthusiastic reception OMG 2 has received in theatres! This story deserves to travel far and beyond borders and we are confident that with Netflix we will be able to take the film to entertainment lovers around the world. Hope that our labour of love continues to spread joy."
The producer and COO of Viacom18 Studios also expressed his delight. He said, “OMG 2's journey from the silver screen to Netflix is an exhilarating leap into global streaming. Our sequel has truly elevated the OMG franchise, offering a unique blend of humor and thought-provoking content to audiences. With Netflix as our platform, we aim to share our labor of love and continue spreading joy worldwide."

The film also stars Yami Gautam, Pavan Malhotra, Govind Namdev, Aarush Verma, and Brijendra Kala in pivotal roles. The film revolves around a middle-class father raising awareness about a sensitive yet crucial topic which is considered as a taboo in Indian society. Highlighting the importance of s*x education in the court, he actively calls out for prevailing misinformation induced in the kids of today’s generation.
