December 2023 is filled with promising big theatrical releases in the genres of action, romance, and comedy. From Ranbi Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ starting the Bollywood month to Prabhas and Shah Rukh Khan’s epic box office battle with ‘Salaar’ and ‘Dunki’, December 2023 is going to be a blockbuster month for the Hindi cinema. However, viewers will also witness another promising clash between Katrina Kaif-Vijay Sethupathi’s ‘Merry Christmas’ and Sidharth Malhotra-Disha Patani’s ‘Yodha.’
Both the films have encountered several hurdles regarding the confirmation of their release dates, however team ‘Merry Christmas’ now have decided to prepone its release date and witness a clash with ‘Yodha’ on December 8. The confirmation of the same was done by a tweet of film analyst Taran Adarsh. On the other hand, Karan Johar confirmed the release date of ‘Yodha’ on his Instagram by releasing a title poster of the film with the release date. Sharing the post he wrote, “We are all set to land in cinemas on 8th December, 2023!!!!!!”

Earlier, Karan Johar was agitated by the clash of the two films, as he stands to be a significant stakeholder of ‘Yodha.’ The filmmaker expressed his concerns over the clash on social media and emphasized on the fact that in some instances unity within the industry is important, especially during challenging times.

Talking about ‘Merry Christmas’, the film marks the maiden collaboration of Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, and is helmed by Sriram Raghavan. The film is shot in Hindi and Tamil language, and has a bilingual production approach. On the other hand, ‘Merry Christmas’ is directed by Shashank Khaitan and stars Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani, and Rashi Khanna in lead roles. The film is produced by Dharma Entertainment.
