Operation Sindoor: In the wee hours of May 7, the Indian Army and Indian Air Force launched Operation Sindoor. They targeted nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) around 1:44 am on Wednesday. The operation has been conducted in response to the terror attack in Pahalgam. According to reports, the locations are said to be used for planning and directing attacks in India. In this operation, a minimum of 17 terrorists’ lives have been lost, and 60 others have been injured. Several celebrities lauded the initiative of the government and hailed the Indian Armed Forces. Among them is South superstar Rajinikanth, who stated that the fight has just begun. 

In a tweet on Wednesday morning, Rajinikanth wrote “The fighter's fight begins... No stopping until the mission is accomplished! The entire NATION is with you. @PMOIndia @HMOIndia #OperationSindoor JAI HIND.”

Several fans of the actor shared their views on the tweet. A user said, “We are tired of being stuck in the crossfire. Kashmiris want peace, not promises.” Another wrote, “Thank you. All Dravidiyas can do well to learn a lesson or two about patriotism and love for the country from the real Thalaivar- Rajini!” A netizen wrote, “We are united as a nation Our leadership, forces and common citizens are all together Jai Hind, Jai Bhabani, Jai Indian army.” A fan said, “Operation Sindoor proves when the nation stands as one, no mission is impossible!” Another said, “The fighter's spirit is unstoppable—mission first, mission always! Nation stands strong, Jai Hind.” 

The Ministry of Defence issued a statement post the Operation Sindoor and stated, “India has launched #OperationSindoor, a precise and restrained response to the barbaric #PahalgamTerrorAttack that claimed 26 lives, including one Nepali citizen. Focused strikes were carried out on nine #terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, targeting the roots of cross-border terror planning. Importantly, no Pakistani military facilities were hit, reflecting India’s calibrated and non-escalatory approach. This operation underscores India’s resolve to hold perpetrators accountable while avoiding unnecessary provocation. A detailed briefing on the operation will follow later today.”
