Karate Kid Legends on OTT: The sixth instalment of Jackie Chan’s action movie, which also stars Ralph Macchio and Ben Wang was released in theatres in May 2025. The movie received a mixed response from the audience and the critics. Despite its buzz, the film started at a slow pace and eventually failed to leave its mark on the Indian ticket windows. Directed by Jonathan Entwistle and written by Rob Lieber, the movie was build directly on the Cobra Kai universe - but with fresh twists.
The Karate Kid franchise has a huge fanbase, and those waiting for the movie’s OTT release can now enjoy watching it in the comfort of their homes. According to Decider, starting at midnight ET on July 8 (that’s 9 p.m. PT on July 7 and 9:30 am IST on July 8), Karate Kid Legends will become available to rent or buy across digital platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango At Home.

Currently, the movie is not available on any of the subscription based platforms, but it is soon expected to come on the OTT giant Netflix. In 2021, the streaming platform signed a 5 year deal with Sony, and hence it gets first pay window rights for Sony Films. Past Sony films like Kraven the Hunter took about three months to land on Netflix. Others arrived sooner - some in just over two months. Since Karate Kid Legends opened in theaters in May 2025, it is possible that it can arrive in August or September of 2025.
The film was made on a production budget of USD 45 million (Rs 38 crore approximately). As per Sacnilk, Karate Kid Legends opened at the Indian box office, earning Rs 1.75 crore. The film had an overall 10.11 per cent English occupancy on the first day, 17.72 per cent Tamil occupancy, 6.05 per cent Hindi occupancy and 11.92 per cent Telugu occupancy. Netizens were quick enough to share their mix reviews on X (Twitter) after watching the film in theatres.
