Maranamass (SonyLIV)

Basil Joseph's latest release, Maranamass, a dark comedy thriller, made its theatrical debut on April 10. Helmed by debutant Sivaprasad and co-written with Siju Sunny, the movie takes us into the world centred around a notorious serial killer, known as the Banana Killer. He leaves behind a banana stuffed in the mouth of the body after the murder. Maranamass shows how Kerala is gripped in fear as a serial killer starts kidnapping elderly men. Amid the crime, local troublemaker Luke becomes the prime suspect. During the investigation, the police discover unexpected developments. The movie also starred Anishma Anilkumar, Rajesh Madhavan, Babu Antony, Suresh Krishna and Siju Sunny in key roles. Post theatrical run, makers made the film available for streaming online.

Parannu Parannu Parannu Chellan (ManoramaMAX)

Directed by Jishnu Harindra Varma, the movie stars Unni Lalu and Sidharth Bharathan in the lead roles. Parannu Parannu Parannu Chellan brings back the old school love story with caste, religion, social standing, family restrictions and more. A love story of Jiju and Sandhya, which seems to be easy in the beginning, leads to unexpected turns with family involvement. Jiju falls in love with Sandhya, a girl from a higher caste, and their relationship intensifies after Sandhya’s relative, Satheesh (Sidharth Bharathan), enters the picture. Threatening Jiju with the consequences. Amid this, the couple plans to elope, but the family tensions rise. The movie was released on January 31, 2025. Upon its arrival in cinemas, the movie received a positive response.

Ouseppinte Osiyathu (Amazon Prime Video and Simply South)

This new Malayalam drama, which is streaming on OTT platforms, has been written by Fazal Haasan and helmed by R. J. Sarath Chandran, marking his directorial debut. The movie revolves around the dynamics of a father with his three sons and brother. Ouseppinte Osiyathu explores the societal expectations on elder siblings to run the household and maintain harmony in the family. The movie stars Vijayaraghavan in the role of father along with Dileesh Pothan, Kalabhavan Shajohn and Hemanth Menon, playing his sons. Besides them, the movie also features Lenaa, Anjali Krishna, Kani Kusruti, Zarin Shahib and others.

Hunt (ManoramaMAX)

Bhavana Menon and Aditi Ravi starrer Malayalam thriller movie hit the cinemas on August 23, 2024. The movie didn't meet expectations at the box office and received mixed responses from the audience. Almost a year from its theatrical release, the makers are set to make the movie accessible for viewers to stream online. They are hoping to intrigue them with a story of a forensic doctor who gets entangled in solving a murder mystery during which she faces eerie events. The movie explores themes with a blend of supernatural suspense and intense drama. Hunt is scheduled for streaming on the OTT platform ManoramaMAX from May 23, 2025.
