Trigger (Netflix)
Trigger is a 2025 South Korean action thriller written and directed by Kwon Oh-seung. Starring Kim Nam-gil and Kim Young-kwang, the film premiered on Netflix on July 25, 2025. The story revolves around the surge in illegal gun trafficking and rising gun-related crimes. It follows two men — a principled police officer and a clever arms dealer — who use weapons for completely different motives.
The Trauma Cide (Netflix)
The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call is a 2025 South Korean medical comedy series written by Choi Tae-kang and directed by Lee Do-yoon. Starring Ju Ji-hoon, Choo Young-woo, Ha Young, Yoon Kyung-ho and Jung Jae-kwang, the show is based on the web novel Trauma Center: Golden Hour. It follows the journey of a gifted trauma surgeon, Baek Kang-hyuk, as he joins a struggling university hospital. The series premiered on Netflix on January 24, 2025.
Bugonia (Prime Video)
Bugonia is a 2025 black comedy thriller directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, and a remake of the Korean film Save the Green Planet!. The film follows two young men who kidnap a powerful CEO, believing she is an alien planning to destroy Earth, and stars Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, and Alicia Silverstone.
The Divorce Insurance (Prime Video)
The Divorce Insurance is a 2025 South Korean romantic comedy workplace drama starring Lee Dong-wook, Lee Joo-bin, Lee Kwang-soo, and Lee Da-hee. The series aired on tvN from March 31 to May 6, 2025 and is also available on TVING and Amazon Prime Video in select regions. Despite its star cast, the show became one of the lowest-rated Korean dramas of 2025, recording a nationwide viewership of just 0.9% for its second-last episode — among the lowest in the channel’s history.
No Other Choice (Prime Video)
No Other Choice is a 2025 South Korean black comedy thriller written and directed by Park Chan-wook. Based on Donald Westlake’s novel The Ax, the film stars Lee Byung-hun and Son Ye-jin, among others. The story follows a desperate paper industry expert who resorts to killing his rivals to secure a job and protect his lifestyle.
The Childe (JioHotstar)
The Childe is a 2023 South Korean neo-noir action thriller directed by Park Hoon-jung. The film features Kim Seon-ho in a pivotal role, alongside Kang Tae-joo, who makes his big-screen debut, as well as Kim Kang-woo and Go Ara in key supporting parts. The movie was released theatrically on June 21, 2023 and quickly drew attention for its intense storytelling, gritty action sequences, and stylish neo-noir treatment. With its dark themes, suspense-driven narrative and strong performances, The Childe stands out as a gripping addition to South Korean action thrillers.
