Retro OTT Release Update: Retro is an action-romance drama written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj. Suriya, Pooja Hegde, and other well-known actors play important parts in the Tamil movie. Retro promises passion, drama, conflict and betrayal. Despite having great anticipation before its premiere, the movie received mixed reviews and fierce competition from other recently released films, yet it ended up doing well at the box office.

Retro (Telugu) OTT Release 

Retro will be available for streaming on Netflix starting on May 31 following a respectable run at the box office. The movie will be accessible in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam. The movie centers on the life of Suriya's character, Paarim, a gangster who has made the decision to put his violent past behind him. Paarim is an orphan who was brought up by a mobster himself. He reunites with Rukmini (Pooja Hegde), his long-lost love, as an adult. He is now caught in a conflict between his past and his commitment to his wife that he will stop using violence and live a peaceful life.

It's interesting to note that there was less than a month between the theatrical release and the OTT premiere, indicating a significant shift to digital after the movie box office results.

Retro did not live up to the hype and star power, particularly in the Telugu states, where it did not fare well at all. Fans and watchers are eager to see if the movie gets a second wind on Netflix, so all eyes are on how it will perform on streaming services.

Retro Movie Cast And Plot Details

With Suriya and Pooja Hegde in the key parts and Jayaram, Joju George, Prashanth, Sujith Shankar, and Amrin Abubakker supporting them, Retro boasts an amazing cast. Karthik Subbaraj wrote the script and directed the movie.

Raised as a son by criminal Thilakan (Joju George), Paarivel Kannan, also known as Paari (Suriya), serves as his father's right-hand man until he makes the decision to leave with all of the stolen 'goldfish'one day. Amidst all of this, Paari is prepared to marry his lady love, veterinarian Rukmini (played by Pooja Hegde), with whom he has pledged to give up his life as a criminal and live a straight life. This calm is short-lived, though, as a furious Thilakan causes chaos and interrupts Paari's wedding by demanding the returned goldfish. Then, as Rukmini vanishes from his life, he is compelled to take up arms once more and ends up in prison.

Desperate to find Rukku, a devastated Paari spends five years in prison before discovering her on an island off the coast of the Andamans. At the same time, Thilakan continues to hunt for his goldfish and baye for blood. He follows Paari to the island of Black. But because it is ruled by a despotic Mirasdar (Nasser) and his son Michael, this island has its own problems. When Paari touches down on Black Island, what happens? Does Rukku return to him? What does he do about Michael and Thilakan pursuing him?
