Thalaivan Thalaivii OTT Release: Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen’s latest Tamil movie, Thalaivan Thalaivii, hit cinemas on July 25, 2025. The Tamil movie is currently enjoying a solid theatrical run with good reviews from audience. Directed and written by Pandiraj, the Tamil romantic action-comedy has caught the attention of both fans and industry watchers. With its engaging story and strong performances, the Thalaivan Thalaivii is pulling in good numbers at the box office. While the theatrical journey continues, there’s growing buzz about when the film will arrive on OTT platforms. Viewers who missed the cinema release may not have to wait long.
Thalaivan Thalaivii Tamil movie’s post-theatrical streaming rights have been reportedly acquired by Amazon Prime Video. However, neither the filmmakers nor the streaming platform have officially announced a release date yet. Typically, Tamil movies that do well in theatres are released online around four to six weeks after their cinema debut, depending on performance and agreements made in advance.
Tamil Movie Thalaivan Thalaivii Details
The Tamil movie is produced by Sathya Jyothi Films and marks Vijay Sethupathi’s 51st lead role. It’s also the first time he stars opposite Nithya Menen in a full-length feature. The plot follows the emotional ups and downs of a passionate couple dealing with love and conflict. Yogi Babu also features in a key role, bringing his signature humour to the film.
Meanwhile, Thalaivan Thalaivii movie was first announced in August 2024 under the working title VJS51, with the official title revealed in May 2025. Filming took place between August 2024 and February 2025 in locations such as Chennai and Tiruchirappalli. The music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan, with cinematography by M. Sukumar and editing by Pradeep E. Ragav.

Thalaivan Thalaivii Box Office Collection
After a decent start on opening day with Rs 4.5 crore, Thalaivan Thalaivii saw a 50% rise on Saturday, earning Rs 6.75 crore, according to Sacnilk. This brings its total two-day India net collection to Rs 11.25 crore.
