Padma Awards 2026: On the eve of India’s Republic Day, January 25, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced the list of Padma awardees for 2026. Padma Awards are among the highest civilian honours in the country, conferred in three categories-Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. These awards honour various disciplines and fields of activities, including art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, literature and education, sports and others. Veteran actor Dharmendra will be posthumously honoured with Padma Vibhushan. Apart from renowned artists, this year's Padma awardees list includes many unsung heroes who have contributed to society.
List Of Padma Vibhushan Awardees
The five individuals have been chosen for the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian award. The list includes actor Dharmendra Singh Deol, who passed away last year in November, will be posthumously honoured with Padma Vibhushan in the art category, Maharashtra. Apart from the late actor, KT Thomas for public affairs, Kerala. N Rajam for art, Uttar Pradesh. P Narayanan, literature and education, Kerala, and VS Achuthanandhan (posthumous), public affairs, Kerala.
Padma Bhushan Awardees
Thirteen people have been announced for the Padma Bhushan, including actor Mammootty and renowned Bollywood playback singer Alka Yagnik. The full list:

10.Uday Kotak (Trade and Industry, Maharashtra)
11.VK Malhotra (Posthumous) (Public Affairs, Delhi)
12.Vellappally Natesan (Public Affairs, Kerala)
13.Vijay Amritraj (Sports, United States of America)

Padma Shri Awardees
The Padma Shri has been awarded to 113 individuals for distinguished service in their respective fields. The list of Padma Shri recipients includes National Award-winning actor R Madhavan, Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee and the veteran TV and film actor Satish Shah (Posthumous).
The Padma Awards are a tribute to individuals whose dedication, talent, and perseverance inspire the nation. These awards are conferred by the President of India at ceremonial functions, which are held at Rashtrapati Bhawan, usually around March or April every year.
