Actor Paresh Rawal made headlines last month by announcing his exit from Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty starrer, Phir Hera Pheri 3. Currently, the actor is in a legal battle with Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Films. Baburao’s fans seemed to be disappointed and heartbroken at this news. Some fans even urged Paresh Rawal to reconsider his decision as they will deeply miss Babu Bhaiya’s character. Fans adored Paresh Rawal's performance as the iconic Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in Hera Pheri, which became a cult classic over time.

Paresh Rawal replied to a fan, who requested him to join Hera Pheri 3. A social media user wrote on X (previously Twitter), “Sir please think once again to join HERA FERI movie. You are the hero of this movie (sic).” Responding to this, the veteran actor responded, “NO … There are Three Heroes in Hera Pheri.” His reaction has generated buzz among social media users, leaving them confused about his involvement in the project.

Paresh Rawal’s tweet confused several, with many wondering if the actor will reprise his role as Babu Bhaiya in Hera Pheri 3. Some users believe that this was a publicity stunt to grab attention for the comedy franchise. One fan claimed, “If this is a stunt, it's gonna work. I can't stand the thought of my three movie dads divorcing.” Another Twitter head wrote, “3?? At this point its difficult to tell if this is truth or just for pr.” A third user wrote, "For some reason it's giving major PR vibe."

Hera Pheri was released in 2000 under the direction of Priyadarshan. The comedy movie revolves around Baburao Ganpatrao Apte (played by Pareshan Rawal), Raju (played by Akshay Kumar) and Shyam (played by Suniel Shetty). The trio returned for the sequel titled, Phir Hera Pheri, in 2006, which was directed by Neeraj Vora. Even while it's still unknown if Akshay, Suniel, and Priyadarshan would make Hera Pheri 3 without Paresh Rawal, fans have made it clear that the celebrated comedy franchise won't be the same without him.
