Popular South playback singer and dubbing artist Kalpana Raghavendar allegedly tried to kill herself at her Nizampet residence on March 4. As per reports, she tried to attempt suicide by taking sleeping pills. After neighbours alerted the police, the singer was taken to the hospital in an unconscious state. The singer was shifted to a private hospital in Nizampet where she is undergoing treatment. Currently, Kalpana is on ventilator support. The reason behind her taking this drastic step is still unknown.
After this incident, Kalpana’s husband Prasad arrived in the city. The police officials have been questioning him as part of the investigation. As per several media reports, several celebrities including Srikrishna, Sunitha, Geetha Madhuri, and Karunya visited the singer to check on her in this critical situation.

About Kalpana Raghavendar
Kalpana was born to TS Raghavendra, a renowned playback singer, actor and composer, and her mother Sulochana. The singer was the winner of Idea Star Singer Malayalam. She was also a contestant in Bigg Boss Telugu Season 1. Kalpana started her singing career at the age of 5 and by 2013 she recorded 1500 tracks. Not only that, she also performed in 3000 shows across India and abroad. She also judged several television shows including Super Singer Junior season 6, Super Singer TV season 1, Super Singer Junior season 7, Saregamapa Champions (Zee Telugu), Airtel Super Singer season 8, Super Singer Junior season 8, Star Singer season 8. She also acted as a child artist in 1986 Tamil movie Punnagai Mannan.
