Indian actor-comedian Vir Das recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his gratitude to Priyanka Chopra for a sweet gesture following his International Emmy win. Das clinched the prestigious award for his comedy special, 'Vir Das: Landing.' In a heartfelt tweet, he thanked Priyanka Chopra not only for the beautiful bouquet of flowers but also for opening doors in the entertainment industry for him and others.

The tweet read, "Thank you @priyankachopra for the flowers and for every door you’ve opened for the rest of us. You’re awesome!" Alongside the message, Das shared pictures of the congratulatory flowers he received from the global icon.

The accompanying handwritten note from Priyanka Chopra conveyed warm wishes to Vir Das for his well-deserved accomplishment. The note read, "Dear Vir, wishing you huge congratulations on your Emmy win! Such a well-deserved and wonderful accomplishment! With love, Priyanka, Mary, and your friends at Purple Pebble Pictures." Purple Pebble Pictures is a film production company founded by Priyanka Chopra.

This isn't the first time Vir Das has expressed admiration for Priyanka Chopra and her influence on his career. Earlier this year, in an interview on ''The Ranveer Show,' Das highlighted the significant disparity between their levels of success in the United States. While acknowledging his appearances on popular shows like ''The Tonight Show' Starring Jimmy Fallon, he emphasised that Priyanka Chopra held a distinct position, being featured as a guest on American talk shows.

Vir Das made it clear that he recognises the global stature of Priyanka Chopra, stating, "(I am) Nowhere even close to the level of Priyanka. Like Priyanka is the global Indian." He went on to describe the difference, stating that while he performed on 'The Tonight Show', the Citadel actress was seated on the coveted couch as a guest, illustrating the notable contrast in their achievements.

The camaraderie between Vir Das and Priyanka Chopra extends beyond professional accolades. In 2022, the actress attended one of Vir's Los Angeles shows, describing him as "brave and inspiring." In response, Vir Das expressed gratitude, thanking her for "opening the doors" for him and others in the industry.

This exchange of appreciation showcases the supportive nature of their friendship, with Vir Das acknowledging Priyanka Chopra's influence on his career trajectory and expressing gratitude for her continued support. As both continue to make waves in the global entertainment scene, their camaraderie serves as a testament to the power of mentorship and encouragement in the industry.
