During an appearance on Sirius XM’s The Howard Stern Show, Priyanka Chopra revealed how her life changed after a botched surgery when she got a polyp in her nasal cavity removed. . The actor said, “This thing happens, and my face looks completely different, and I went into a deep, deep depression. I thought my buzzing acting career was over before it started.”

Priyanka Chopra added that it was her late father who encouraged her to get corrective surgery done. “I was terrified of that, but he was like, ‘I will be in the room with you.’ He held my hands through it and helped me build back my confidence.”

The actor went on to thank Anil Sharma, the director of Gadar, for giving her a film after she lost three films due to her botched surgery. “I was supposed to play this lead, and I was shifted to a supporting character. That filmmaker was very kind … He, while the tide was against me, said, ‘It will be a small part but give it your all.’ And I did,” said Priyanka Chopra.

Priyanka Chopra has been busy with her back-to-back projects. The actor was recently seen in the thriller series Citadel by Russo brothers. On Wednesday night, Priyanka attended the premiere of her upcoming film Love Again in New York.

Priyanka Chopra will also be seen in a Bollywood film after a long time with Zoya Akhtar’s Jee Le Zara. The actor will be starring alongside Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt and the film will reportedly go on floors this year.

In an earlier interview, Priyanka Chopra opened up on feeling ‘cornered’ in Bollywood. “I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break. This music thing gave me an opportunity to go into another part of the world, not crave for the movies I didn't want to get but I would require to schmooze certain clubs and cliques of people. It would require groveling and I had worked a long time by then that I didn't feel like I wanted to do it,” Priyanka Chopra said in a podcast.
