South Movies Expected To Take Box Office By Storm In 2024: In recent times, the South Indian film industry has risen as a potent presence, captivating audiences not only within its regional confines but also nationwide and internationally. With an increase in pan-India releases, Southern cinema is now positioned to rival Bollywood's dominance. Let's explore the list of films including Pushpa 2, Devara, Game Changer among Kalki 2989 among others, poised to dominate the box office in 2024.

Devara

Upcoming Telugu-language action drama film written and directed by Koratala Siva, stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr. in the titular role, alongside Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, and Narain. The film features music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by R Rathnavelu, and editing by A Sreekar Prasad. Produced by Sudhakar Mikkilineni and Kosaraju Harikrishna under the banners Yuvasudha Arts and N. T. R. Arts, the film is scheduled to release on October 10, 2024, coinciding with Dussehra.

Pushpa 2

Directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers in association with Sukumar Writings, the film stars Allu Arjun in the titular role, alongside Fahadh Faasil, Rashmika Mandanna, Dhananjay, Rao Ramesh, Sunil, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Ajay Ghosh, and Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, reprising their roles from the first installment. It serves as the second installment in the Pushpa film series and is the sequel to 'Pushpa: The Rise.' With a budget of Rs 500 crore, the film stands as one of the most expensive Indian productions to date. It is set to release on August 15, 2024.

Kalki 2898

Science-fiction dystopian film set in the year 2898 AD, based on Hindu scriptures. Directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by C. Aswani Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies, the film features Prabhas in the lead role alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, and others in prominent roles. The music is scored by Santhosh Narayanan, with cinematography by Djordje Stojiljkovic and production design by Nitin Zihani Choudhary, known for his work in 'Tumbbad' (2018). It is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on May 9, 2024.

The Greatest of All Time

Tamil-language science fiction action film helmed by director Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment, features Vijay in dual roles, leading a star-studded cast that includes Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, and Meenakshi Chaudhary. Initially, Atlee was rumoured to direct the project; however, subsequently, Prabhu was brought on board as the director. The film was officially announced in May 2023 under the tentative title 'Thalapathy 68,' signifying Vijay's 68th film in a leading role.

Kanguva

Directed by Siva and produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja, V. Vamsi Krishna Reddy, and Pramod Uppalapati under the banners of Studio Green and UV Creations, the film stars Suriya in dual roles, leading an ensemble cast that includes Bobby Deol and Disha Patani, alongside Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Ravi Raghavendra, K. S. Ravikumar, and B. S. Avinash. Kanguva is scheduled for a theatrical release in 2024 in standard, 3D, and IMAX formats.

Game Changer

The Telugu film Game Changer, directed by Shankar and featuring Ram Charan in the lead role, has garnered considerable anticipation among the audience. Produced by Dil Raju, the movie boasts a budget of 170 crores. Kiara Advani plays the female lead in this highly awaited production. It is slated for a worldwide release in September 2024.

Thug Life

Action drama film helmed by director Mani Ratnam. Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies, the movie boasts a stellar ensemble cast led by Haasan in a triple role. The cast also includes Aravind Swamy, Silambarasan, Trisha, Abhirami, Nassar, Gautham Karthik, Joju George, and Aishwarya Lekshmi. AR Rahman has composed the music for the film, while Ravi K Chandran serves as the cinematographer and A Sreekar Prasad handles the editing.
