Pushpa 2: The Rule, the action drama directed and written by Sukumar, features Allu Arjun in the lead role, alongside Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna. It serves as the second installment in the Pushpa film series and follows the 2021 release Pushpa: The Rise. The eagerly awaited Telugu film is now creating a buzz, especially with news that Shraddha Kapoor is set to make a special appearance in a dance sequence alongside Arjun.
Directed by Sukumar and produced on a budget of ₹500 crore, Pushpa 2 features a talented cast, including Fahadh Faasil, Rashmika Mandanna, Sritej, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Priyamani and Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari in pivotal roles.
The first installment of Pushpa, which debuted in 2022, made a significant impact in Indian cinema, particularly with Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s mesmerising performance in the song 'Oo Antava.' For the sequel, the filmmakers are focused on crafting a spectacular dance number designed to appeal to audiences across various regions. Initially, several names, including Triptii Dimri, were in the running for the dance number in Pushpa 2. However, recent reports from Gulte indicate that Shraddha Kapoor is the preferred choice.
Pushpa 2: The Rule was originally set for a theatrical release on August 15. However, earlier this year, the makers announced that some portions of the film still needed to be shot. Subsequently, they revealed the updated release date for Allu Arjun's film. Reports indicate that the theatrical rights for Pushpa 2 have been sold for ₹650 crore. Additionally, it is suggested that Netflix has secured the digital rights to the film, acquiring them for an impressive ₹270 crore. The movie will be available on the platform in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is currently shooting key scenes for the eagerly awaited sequel, returning to his iconic role as Pushparaj. He is joined by Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, who are also reprising their characters from the first film, under the direction of Sukumar. The movie features a strong ensemble cast, including Dhananjaya, Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Sunil and Ajay Ghosh.
