Allu Arjun left fans speechless once again with his performance in Pushpa 2: The Rule, which shattered all records at the box office. The film, released in theaters on December 5 last year, also starred Rashmika Mandanna in her role as Srivalli. Besides the gripping storyline and the intriguing continuation of the fight between Pushpa Raj and SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, the Gangamma Jathara sequence grabbed everyone’s attention. The protagonist, dressed in a sari, captivated the audience with his powerful dance performance. Interestingly, Allu Arjun got scared after hearing about this scene in the movie.

Allu Arjun shared his experience of shooting the Jathara sequence in his blockbuster movie Pushpa 2. He told The Hollywood Reporter India, “Well, one thing about the Jathara sequence is that, in short, when he initially told me, I was scared. Yeah, that was the first reaction. We had finished a very macho photoshoot, and he said, ‘It’s not working.’ Then he said, ‘I want you to wear a sari, dress like a lady.’ We started doing sketches. And then we could see it. And I started buying into the idea because there’s always a fear in the beginning. First, there was fear, and then there was exploration.”

The Pushpa star also shared how he and director Sukumar knew that this would become the highlight of the movie. He added, "If I do this, I will walk away with a huge, how do I say, with a great name. The only thing that Sukumar garu and I thought was that even if he’s dressed in a sari, he has to look very, very macho; the alpha-ness should not be lost."

Pushpa 2 Plot Details

The sequel to the hit movie Pushpa 2: The Rule was released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam. The film revolves around the tale of red sandalwood smuggler Pushpa Raj, charting his journey from being a daily wage worker to heading a red sandalwood smuggling syndicate. The movie has been available for viewers on the OTT giant Netflix since January 30. Besides Allu Arjun and Rashmika, the film also starred Fahad Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, Dhananjaya, Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Rao Ramesh, Anasuya Bharadwaj, and Sunil. Pushpa 2: The Rule became a massive hit upon its release at the box office, grossing over Rs 1800 crore globally.
