On the other hand, the first week of Raid 2 saw it earning Rs 95.75 crore in its extended eight-day run. The pace of the film slowed down due to its clash with major releases like Akshay Kumar's Kesari Chapter 2 and Suriya's Retro, then Nani's HIT 3. Even with the stiff competition the movie found its footing again in the second week based on good reviews and audience feedback, and Ajay Devgn’s strong screen presence.
Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raid 2 sees the return of IRS officer Amay Patnaik, played by Ajay Devgn, a no-nonsense officer who has conducted 74 successful raids and faced as many transfers. This time, the stakes are higher as he takes on a formidable political figure, Dadabhai, portrayed by Riteish Deshmukh in a gripping new antagonist role. The OTT platform, Netflix has acquired the rights to exclusively stream Raid 2 after the customary 60-day post release window, and is expected to stream the film in late June or early July 2025.
With a public holiday on Monday, the film is expected to sustain its momentum for at least another day before the regular weekday pattern sets in. If this upward trend continues, Raid 2 may comfortably surpass several benchmarks in the coming days, and finalise its status as one of the strong performers at the box office for 2025.
