Now, South superstar Rajinikanth has broken his silence on the ongoing situation in Malayalam industry.

Rajinikanth Reacts To Sexual Assault Allegations In Malayalam Industry

On Sunday, Rajinikanth was mobbed by journalists at Chennai airport, eager to solicit his views on various subjects, including his forthcoming film Coolie. Although the actor was forthcoming with his thoughts on other matters, he appeared evasive and uninformed when questioned about the Hema Committee report, leaving the press with more questions than answers.

In a video released by Polimer News, Rajinikanth appeared perplexed when a reporter inquired about the possibility of establishing a committee to investigate exploitation within the Tamil film industry, similar to the Hema Committee. He requested the reporter to reiterate the question, his facial expression conveying confusion and uncertainty. He could be heard saying in the video, “I don’t know…I don’t know anything about that. Sorry.”

Mohanlal Resigns As AMMA President

Mohanlal, the incumbent President of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), made the unexpected decision to step down from his position. In a show of solidarity, the entire 17-member executive committee, led by Mohanlal, collectively tendered their resignations, sending shockwaves throughout the industry.

Mohanlal issued a statement to the press and announced his resignation from the post of AMMA President. He wrote, “AMMA has decided to disperse the executive committee on moral grounds in the light of allegations made by some actors against some of the committee members. A new committee will be formed after an election within two months.”

The association has announced that a general body meeting will be convened within two months to elect a new governing body. In a statement, the association expressed its hope for a fresh leadership that can revitalise and fortify the organisation, while also acknowledging and appreciating the feedback received regarding their past mistakes.
