Rajkummar Rao has made a strong presence in Bollywood with his versatile acting skills. The actor, who comes from a non-filmy background, has never shied away from praising and encouraging his contemporaries. While Rao is busy promoting his upcoming movie Srikanth, he also appreciated the performance of Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh in Imtiaz Ali directorial Amar Singh Chamkila. Rajkummar also shared that the film was made for Diljit only. He also appreciated Parineeti Chopra’s performance in the movie. 

Rajkummar Rao Praises Diljit Dosanjh 
 
In an interview with Anupama Chopra, Rajkummar Rao said, “I have seen Amar Singh Chamkila thrice already. I am in love with that film. Pari is also great. Diljit some moments…Aatma nikal ke de hai usne.”

Further admiring Diljit’s performance, he said, “He is just something…He was saying in one of his podcasts kuch 2020 mein kuch to hua hai which has changed him as a person for good, I am glad it happened..bahut hi zyada purity hai. Sometimes you feel na if you see a film..arey yaar kaash yeh character mujhe milta but chamkila is like nahi nahi! Aap hi ho..Thank God aapko mila,” he added.

As soon as the clip of Rajkummar Rao praising Diljit Dosanjh went viral on social media, people started reacting to it. A fan wrote, “Talent always recognises Talent.” “Rajkumar and awesomeness!,”said another fan. A user commented, “Diljit looking like surprised 😂 in more than 90% shots in this movie and that is called acting 🎭 😂 and instead of telling the story through incidents the director had no idea how to make a biopic as story. It is at the best is a documentary of least artistic value.”

An admirer said, “Can we praise Rajkumar for praising another actor or a film with an open heart? Nobody in the industry does that. I have not seen that in the interviews. He’s a gem of a person, so genuine and that shows in his acting too.” A comment reads, “No one else could’ve done Chamkila but @diljitdosanjh! Even @parineetichopra was so understated & phenomenal!! Kudos to @rajkummar_rao for giving credit where it’s due!!”

Amar Singh Chamkila is a biopic made on 'once famous Punjab singer' by the same name. Later, the artist was assassinated for his vulgar lyrics in songs. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film is now streaming on Netflix.
