Filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari is currently working on the adaptation of 'Ramayana' and there has been a lot of excitement among the audience ever since the reports about the project surfaced on the internet. As per reports, Ranbir Kapoor will essay the role of Lord Ram and 'KGF' star Yash will be seen as Ravana. New pictures from the sets of 'Ramayana' have surfaced on social media and Lara Dutta and Arun Govil can be seen present on set.
As per reports, Lara Dutta will be seen as Kaikeyi, Arun Govil as Raja Dasharath and Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara. The star cast is reportedly shooting for the childhood of Lord Ram and several child actors can also be seen on the set.

According to reports, Sai Pallavi will be seen as Goddess Sita. Alia Bhatt was reportedly approached for the role but things did not work out. Sunny Deol will reportedly play Lord Hanuman, whereas, Rakul Preet has reportedly been approached to play Shurpanakha.
The official announcement regarding 'Ramayana' or its star cast has not been announced yet.
Nitesh Tiwari last directed 'Bawaal', starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles.

On the work front, Lara Dutta was last seen in the Hindi movie 'Ishq-e-Nadaan'. She will next star in 'Welcome To The Jungle' along with Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty and Arshad Warsi in the lead roles. The movie also stars Paresh Rawal, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Rahul Dev, Mukesh Tiwari, Sharib Hashmi, Inaamulhaq, Zakir Hussain, Yashpal Sharma, Raveena Tandon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani and Vrihi Kodvara.
Arun Govil was last seen in 'Article 370' as the Prime Minister of India along with Yami Gautam, Priyamani, Skand Thakur, Ashwini Kaul and Vaibhav Tatwawadi.
