Excel Movies announced the release date of the anime epic on their official Instagram handle. The caption read, "The wait is over! Experience India’s greatest epic in all its glory! Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama releasing on January 24, 2025, in Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu. An unmissable 4K experience awaits! Trailer out in 2 days!"

The news excited Indian movie fans, with many dropping hearts and heart-eye emojis in the comment section. One of the users wrote, "Ooooo, never thought I'd see this again. SO EXCITED." Another user wrote, "Only Excel could have done this, finally." The third user wrote, "Releasing this on Diwali was so magical but better late than never."
The legendary screenwriter Shri V. Vijayendra Prasad, known for his blockbusters like Baahubali, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and RRR, has overseen the creative adaptation of the new versions of the animated movie.
