Earlier, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Yash confirmed his role in Ramayana. He said, “If the character is treated like a character… if this doesn’t happen today, then the film won’t happen. To make a film with that kind of budget, you need those kinds of actors to come together." He also revealed that he was attracted to the role of Raavan due to the character's complexity and depth.

In the same interview, the actor shared how discussions with producer Namit Malhotra led him to sign the film and even decide to co-produce it. He added, "It’s a very fascinating character… there’s vast scope to present it in a very different way."

Meanwhile, Yash is gearing up for highly anticipated movie Toxic.
