Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna Starrer Chhaava To Release In Russia On This Date

Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Chhaava is all set to bring the storm at the International level. How? The movie will be releasing in Russian theatres simultaneously on the actual release date which is February 14, 2025. Not every Bollywood movie gets released internationally that too in the same date of its actual release. But, it seems Chhaava is already making waves ahead of its much-awaited release. The historical drama is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and his contribution to the country. The movie also stars Diana Penty, Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta and Pradeep Rawat in key roles. The film has been directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan. 

On the other hand, the makers faced controversies for having a scene featuring Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj playing Lezim (an instrument). People criticised that it is not historically accurate. The director of the movie Laxman Utekar met Maharashtra Navnirman Sena leader Raj Thackeray amid the controversies. After the meeting, the filmmaker told the media that they would delete the Lezim dance sequence. Laxman said, “The meeting with Raj Thackeray was to seek his advice. His knowledge of history, especially regarding Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is extensive. He provided valuable suggestions for changes, which we will implement. As for the scene featuring Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj playing Lezim, we will delete it. It was not our intention to hurt anyone’s sentiments.” 

The music composition of Chhaava has been done by AR Rahman and the cinematography is by Saurabh Goswami.
