The Kapoor family celebrated the 100th birth anniversary of Bollywood icon Raj Kapoor. In his remembrance, a huge event was organised in Mumbai to kickstart a film festival. The event began on December 13 and was attended by several Bollywood celebrities such as Rekha, Kartik Aaryan, Rajkumar Hirani, Mahesh Bhatt and more. Videos and photos from the event are going viral on social media. One such clip was when veteran actress Rekha hugged tightly Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda. She affectionately put her hand on the cheeks of The Archies actor. After which, Agastya also folded her hands in front of the actress and gave a bright smile to her. 

Several users reacted to the video, a fan commented “Rekha hugs every one from Bachchan family tightly when ever she gets the chance.” Another user mentioned, “abba abba superb.” 

The Bachchan family did not attend the ceremony due to unknown reasons. But Shweta Bachchan Nanda’s relationship with the Kapoor family is quite strong as per reports. Many didn’t know that Shweta is married to Nikhil Nanda who is Ritu Nanda’s son. Ritu was Raj Kapoor’s daughter. That’s how the Kapoor family is related to Nanda. 

The event was attended by Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Randhir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. 

This week, the Kapoor clan met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of Raj Kapoor. While sharing the experience of meeting the PM, Alia wrote on Instagram “Art is timeless. And sometimes to move forward, we must look back and learn. Mr. Raj Kapoor’s impact was truly global. He marked his footprint all across the world with the movies he made, the stories he told. Yesterday was such an honour to be invited by our respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, to spend a lovely afternoon commemorating the life and legend of Mr. Raj Kapoor.”
