Remembering Manoj Kumar: The legendary actor passed away at the age of 87 in Mumbai due to heart-related complications and decompensated liver cirrhosis. After his demise’ news has been disclosed, tributes have been pouring in for the legendary actor. From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Akshay Kumar, paid tribute to the late Hindi cinema icon. O Mera Rang De Basanti Chola (Shaheed)

It is one of the iconic songs of Hindi Cinema, which is still played at several patriotic events. The track is from Manoj Kumar’s 1965 film Shaheed. Mukesh, Mahendra Kapoor, Lata Mangeshkar and Rajendra Mehta have lent their voice to the song. 



Mere Desh Ki Dharti (Upkar)

It is another popular song which remains a must in the playlist during the Independence Day and the Republic Day. The track is from Manoj Kumar starrer Upkar (1967). Mahendra Kapoor sang this beautiful song and Gulshan Bawra was the lyricist. 


Ai Vatan Ai Vatan Hamko Teri Kasam (Shaheed)

This popular song is from the album of the 1965 film Shaheed. Mohammad Rafi sang the iconic track Ai Vatan Ai Vatan Hamko Teri Kasam and it featured Manoj Kumar. 


Sarfaroshi Ki Tamanna (Shaheed)

Another iconic song that is mostly played in patriotic events. It is also from the album of the 1965 film Shaheed. Mohammad Rafi, Manna Dey and Rajendra Mehta lented their voice to the song Sarfaroshi Ki Tamanna. 


Bharat Ka Rehnewaala (Purab Aur Paschim) 

Mahendra Kapoor’s another iconic track, Bharat Ka Rehnewaala remains in the heart of every Indian citizen till now. It is from the 1970 film Purab Aur Paschim. Indeevar is the lyricst of the song.
