The Cannes Film Festival is one of the biggest events for artists all over the world. Every year, it gains the attention of people for the unique style statement of celebrities. This year Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Sobhita Dhulipala are some of the few Indian celebrities who represented the country at Cannes. Actress Richa Chadha, who made several appearances at the prestigious event, recently lauded the fashion sense of Bollywood's now-dimmed star Mallika Sherawat. She stated that Mallika created her own persona and always knew how to flaunt her body and fitness.

In an interview with News18 Showsha, Richa said “I think Nandita Das, who got invited to be on the jury for Cannes several years ago, held her own in a simple saree, There was a lot of critique and ridicule for Mallika Sherawat at that time but if you look back those pictures from 15 years ago, she looked great! She knew what she was projecting. She knew how to make use of her full body and fitness. She created her own persona.”

“The fashion industry is also very, very classist. They’ll brand you as an independent actress. I don’t really bother with people (who judge) because you aren’t in vogue with them till you are,” she added.

In the same interview, Richa also stated that top designers from the industry didn’t want to lend their designs to her during the initial years of her career. However, she got a stylist during the promotions of Masaan.
