Rishi Kapoor is considered one of the most charming and talented actors in Indian cinema. He also showed his versatility as an actor later in his career. His demise in 2020 left his fans shattered and created a void in the film industry. On his birth anniversary, his daughter Riddhima Kapoor penned a heartfelt note on Instagram and gave tribute to him. She also posted a throwback picture of Rishi Kapoor with his granddaughter Samara Sahni.

Riddhima wrote, "Happy Birthday Papa. How I wish u were here celebrating your special day with both your grand daughters. Your bandari Sam is all grown up and baby Raha is the cutest-she is mini you. Papa, I will always cherish the memories we got to share. We miss you so much and our love for you only deepens with each passing day.”

In the picture, Rishi Kapoor can be seen blowing out candles with his granddaughter Samara.

In a recent interview with Nikhil Kamath, Ranbir Kapoor talked about his relationship with his late father and how his demise in 2020 impacted him. Talking about his death, Ranbir said, "You know it’s funny I didn’t cry when my father passed away.” The 'Animal' actor revealed that when the doctor informed him that it was his father’s last night he had a panic attack. “I was like, ‘I don’t know how to express myself. I don’t know what was happening, it’s too much to take.’ But I don’t think I have grieved,” he said.

While talking about his relationship with his father, he said, "My father was a very short-tempered man, but he was a good man. He was someone who really loved his food, loved his work, loved his family, and loved his alcohol. He was a very open person."

Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30, 2020, at the age of 67.
